How to get to The Shard

London Bridge Underground

The nearest tube is London Bridge, on the Northern and Jubilee lines. The View from The Shard puts that at a few minutes' walk. Follow the signs for The Shard or Joiner Street.

Do not come out onto Tooley Street and walk the long way round the building. Joiner Street is the undercroft between the station and the glass.

London Bridge station

The station sits against Joiner Street. Tube, National Rail, and the bus station all dump you here. If you can see the trains, you are on the right side of the building for the viewing gallery.

Borough Market

The market sits on the west side of London Bridge station, on Stoney Street and Bedale Street. From the stalls you are already at the station. Joiner Street is through the concourse, not across the Thames.

Southwark Cathedral

The cathedral stands next to Borough Market, west of the station. It is a south-bank church, not St Paul's over the river. From the churchyard you walk toward the station, then Joiner Street.

Guy's Hospital

Guy's sits on St Thomas Street, against The Shard. King's College maps put Joiner Street and the glass on the same block. If you are at the hospital entrance you have overshot the ticket hall by one street.
